Scott Albano - Lifter
Class of 2021
Scott was born in Birmingham, AL and still lives in the Birmingham metro area. He began his weightlifting adventure at 10 years old with his dad in their home garage gym. He started powerlifting at the University of Alabama in 1992 with Shelby Robbins and Myles Wetzel, both are members of the ALPHOF. Scott went on to put up great number in the squat and deadlift but became most noted for his bench press. He won the 2004 WPO middle weight division with his 705 lb. bench at 220#. Which made him the 3rd 220# in history to bench press 700+ lbs. in competition and he did it on one of the biggest stages in powerlifting, the Arnold. Scott topped that number the next year in competition with 745 lb. bench at 220#. Along with a very successful powerlifting career, he had a successful bodybuilding career winning Mr. Birmingham in 1994 and placing 2nd in Mr. Alabama in 1997. Professionally, Scott is a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine and owns his own successful practice, Magic City Chiropractic.

Invictus Powerlifting was founded by David and Dawn Shirley in 20??. They built their company to service gyms, powerlifter and the strength world as a whole. Invictus the company and website is built around the lifter. There goal is to provide a place where anyone can go to find anything they need related to lifting, whether that be powerlifting, strongman, bodybuilding or other strength sports. There are resources for events, news, articles, state records, an apparel and equipment store, and more! They build the Warhammer Monolift and the Omega Bench, both of which are used in gyms and powerlifting competitions around the country.
